After a hearty breakfast, you will join your guide and driver for an exciting day of sightseeing. You’ll begin by visiting the Giza Plateau, home to one of the seven ancient wonders of the world – The Great Pyramid of Khufu (also known as Cheops). Here you can also explore two other pyramids built by his successors: Khafre and Menkaure. Don’t forget to take in a view from afar or up close at the mysterious Sphinx! Afterward, head over to Cairo’s Egyptian Museum where 120k artifacts are on display from pre-dynastic times all through the Greco-Roman era. Inside is even a rare picture depicting who was responsible for creating Egypt’s Great Pyramid –Khufu. Also inside is the funerary treasure of King Tut, statues of King Akhenaten (heretic king), and much more! If you have ever been curious about ancient Egyptian culture the museum is a great place to start! Many people particularly enjoy learning about the art of mummification.
The Hanging Church will be your next stop in Coptic Cairo. This basilica church’s name was given to it because of its perch atop the south gate of the Fortress of Babylon. Visit the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar in Cairo’s Islamic neighborhood to conclude your day excursion. This significant souk is one of Cairo’s top tourist destinations. Return to the hotel to finish up your Cairo overnight stay.

On day three of the Cairo and Dahabiya Nile Cruise, you will be taken from your hotel to the airport for a short flight to Luxor. Once in Luxor, you will meet up with your Egyptologist guide and driver who will take you on an adventure through one of ancient Egypt’s most impressive sites: Karnak Temple complex. This temple is known as Ipet-it which translates to “The Most Sacred of Places” and was built over two thousand years by generations upon generations of Pharaohs. You’ll explore the Hypostyle Hall filled with giant pillars before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant nearby followed by a visit to Valley of Kings where many tombs are carved deep into rocks containing priceless treasures meant for pharaohs’ afterlife use.
The majestic temple at El Deir El Bahary, constructed for Queen Hatshepsut, is a fitting way to end this day of exploration. She was the only female pharaoh, and her temple rises in a series of terraces from the plain before blending in with the surrounding limestone cliffs. After that, you will proceed to Esna, where your Dahabiya riverboat will be waiting for you.

Your Cairo and Dahabiya Nile Cruise will continue from Esna to Edfu, where you will disembark and take a horse-drawn carriage to the magnificent Temple of Horus. After this enjoyable outing, you will be taken to the magnificent Edfu souk, where you can go shopping or just take a stroll while taking in the sights and noises. We continue till we arrive at the Speos of Hormoheb.
Dinner will be served on the premises once you have had a chance to explore and photograph this historic chapel. The structure is not only directly in front of you but it will also be illuminated, making for a really unique experience. Spend the night on board the Dahabiya.

You will depart for Kom Ombo on day five of your Cairo and Dahabiya Nile Cruise vacation package in order to view the Temple of Sobek. The two temples that make up this remarkable complex are really mirror images of one another. Both had to have been constructed identically in every way because they were each dedicated to a different god.
After exploring these magnificent buildings, you will set sail for a small, serene island on the Nile River. On the island, which is conveniently close to Aswan, dinner will be provided. Spend the evening at the Dahabiya.
